MT: Well I know the video hasn't come out yet, but my part for Mind Field is going to be the part I'm most proud of. All of my other parts I've had have just come together, but it's been a little harder for this video part. I went through a few injuries for this video. I had to have surgery on my hand. This is actually the first video part that I really stressed over!
JD: Did you get to skate any new cities/spots while filming for Mind Field?
MT: One of the best things about filming for a video is going on film trips. I went to soo many new spots! I went to Mexico City, KC, Tennessee, Philly, all over the place!
JD: Have you ever been to skate in NC?
MT: Unfortunately, I've never been to NC. Berra and Kirchart are always talking about how good it is there. I'm going to make it there soon!!!
JD: Do you think about the spots/tricks you want to have in your part and go on a mission, or do you just get footy wherever you go?
MT: I usually just go and skate and kind of see what happens. I have a hard time planning out tricks I want to do. If I try and plan a trick, I feel like it takes away from my skating. Instead of just skating and doing a bunch of tricks, I end up only working on the trick I want to film and then thats the only trick I do until I land it!
JD: How much input do you have when it comes to editing or music for your parts?
MT: I actually don't have a ton of input when it comes to my parts. I usually have them edit my part and then I'll check it out when there done. I usually just do the touch ups. Tell them that I don't like how that looks or what not. The music is the tricky part for me. I personally like to listen to rap, but I don't like how rap sounds for video parts. It usually takes a few months for me to find the right song I want to use! I really like the song for my part in Mind Field!
JD: Are you going to take a break now after Mind Field or do you have to start filming again?
MT: Well, I don't really have anything to film for, but I'm definitely not going to take a break. I don't do good with breaks. All I ever want to do is skate. I just got over an injury and I couldn't skate for 2 months. That's the longest I haven't skated in 12 years. I'm good on breaks for awhile!!!
JD: What skate video made the biggest impressions on you when you were a kid?
MT: Mouse!!! That was the first video I ever saw and to this day, it's my favorite!
JD: Who has the best style on a skateboard in your mind?
MT: It's so hard to narrow it down to one person, but when I think of style I think of Kenny Anderson. I like really smooth style. I like when you watch someone and all you want to do is go skate!
JD: Are you going out or dressing up for Halloween?
MT: Yup! Im a blood every year. I was actually thinking about being a crip this year, but I got to keep it real! Westside!!!
JD: Thanks Mikey, any last words or comments for my peoples?
MT: The only thing I can say is don't loose track on why you skate! You got to enjoy skating. Make sure you have fun doing it. It's so easy to get caught up in all the bullshit that skating can bring. Were skaters cuz we love it, not cuz we want to be rich and famous!!!

Totally agree with the part where he says we are skaters because we love it. Not because we want to be rich or famous...
